Hi
I'm Mike Goom and I have been
involved with amateur theatre
since I was Scouting in
Maidenhead, over 40 years. Most
of that time, it has been
through Gang Shows.
Steve and I have worked together
as SM and DSM for various groups
around Berkshire, but when the
Reading Gang Show ceased to be,
he invited various people to
join him in a new venture -
hence BYP (Behind You
Productions) was born.
I
became the Secretary and have
enjoyed the many and varied
challenges that BYP have given
me over the last seven years.
It
has become quite a family affair
with my wife, Jane, continuing
her
Gang Show role of
Props Manager with BYP and my
youngest daughter, Emily, using
her creative talents in
design/painting stage scenery,
face painting for Panto's as
well as occasionally on stage.
We
consider BYP to be one big
family where we can help those
who want to join us, to learn
the skills needed in all area's
of the amateur theatre and we
look forward to the new
challenges being part of a
vibrant organisation brings -
long may BYP encourage those who
wish to tread the boards, light
the stars, ring the bell or just
enjoy being part of theatre!!!
